Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a clear color developed picture by a method wherein a p-halide- N-methylaniline derivative is used as the coloring matter forming matter of heat- sensitive recording. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive recording material is gained in such a manner that an applying liquid is prepared which is manufactured by pulverizing a specified p-halide-N-methylaniline derivative, a catalyst, such as, a lewis acid, a solid acid, etc., a filler, an additive, such as, a lubricant, etc. and by dispersing them into a binding agent, and applied or impregnated to a proper sheet and dried. Here, the p-halide-N-methylaniline derivative is colorless crystals in an ordinary state, but forms triphenyl-methane dyes by heating and melting the derivative. It is because dyes are formed by the change into a radical or an rearrangement reaction of the said compounds. Since heating temperature is not constant by the kinds of the said compounds but is generally not less than 40 deg.C, the time of color development can be shortened while the titled material has sufficient light resisting properties and stability.
