Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the idleness of equipment or capacity over wide ranges of direct current and voltage, by connecting a second thyristor rectification circuit at such polarity in parallel with a series circuit consisting of a first thyristor rectification circuit and a diode that the output currents of the second thyristor rectification circuit and the series circuit are added to each other.
CONSTITUTION: The primary windings of transformers 1, 2 for rectifier are connected to an identical power line. The thyristor rectification circuits 3, 4 are connected to the secondary windings of the transformers 1, 2, respectively. The diode 5 is connected to the positive or negative output terminal of the thyristor rectification circuit 4 in parallel therewith at such polarity that the diode allows the output current of the circuit 4 to flow. The thyristor rectification circuit 3 is coupled at such polarity in parallel with the series circuit consisting of the thyristor rectification circuit 4 and the diode 5 that the output currents of the rectification circuit 3 and the series circuit are added to each other.
