Abstract
PURPOSE: Title filament that is composed of a mixture of polyester and polyamide in a specific proportion and has thick and thin parts in the lengthwise direction, thus giving remarkable deep and pale contrast by dyeing.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A polyester, preferably polyethylene terephthalate, and (B) a polyamide, preferably nylon 6 or 66, are mixed at a weight ratio of 95/5W70/30, preferably 90/10W80/20 A/B and spun. Then, the drawing is carried out at a temperature lower than the glass transition point of component A or the partial drawing is effected with notched rolles to produce thick and thin filaments, in which the number of the thick parts of 0.5W10cm length is desirably 5W60 per 1m of the filament and the diameter ratio of the thick and thin parts is 1.2W2.0.
