Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to accurately meter an arc or the like having a small radius of curvature by detecting the displacement of the contact point between a metering element and a test piece from its intrinsic position so that the element is finely moved for compensation at a right angle with respect to a metering radius.
CONSTITUTION: In addition to a radial slide 3, there is disposed a compensator slide 4 which is movable at a right angle with respect to the former. The center of rotation of the metering element 21 of a fine meter 2 is aligned as much as possible with the center of the arc of a test piece 7 so that a metered value R0 may be obtained by the measurement of the plane A0 about a point O0. Then, the test piece is moved by O0O1 so that the metered value R1 is obtained by the measurement of A1. If there is no angular error Δθ of the contact point, R0=R1 becomes the correct value. Wiht the angular errorΔθ, there is difference between the values R0 and R1. As a result, the calculations are made by the known method so that the compensation slide is moved for compensation by a distance of RsinΔθ (wherein R is a nominated radius of the test piece).
