Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a gas turbine vane of a high heat thermal shielding property to high-temperature gas flow, by making a uniform low-temerature air layer on the total surface of the vane.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of thin sheets of arc or V-shaped cross section are overlapped with a narrow gap so that the convex parts of the sheets are located on the upstream side of high-temperature working gas. The gas turbine vane 10 is thus manufactured. Spacers 12 are interposed between the thin sheets 11 to define openings 13, 14. A chamber 15 of sufficient volume is defined between the second and third fore sheets 11. A plurality of impingement holes 16 are opened through the convex part of the second fore sheet 11. Therefore, a coolant can be conducted from the central part of the vane 10 to its surface through the openings 14 and released into the working gas.
