Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize all the characteristics of a eutectic complex of pyrylium dye as well as to improve dispersibility and to enhance sensitivity of a signle layer type electrophotographic photoreceptor, by using a specified eutectic complex of a pyrylium dye and a specified photoconductor.
CONSTITUTION: A eutectic complex of a pyrylium dye and an electrically insulating polymer, such as polycarbonate having alkylydenediarylene portions in the main chain; and a photoconductor, such as a 3-(9-fluorenylidene) carbazole derivative of formula I, R being 1 to 4 C alkyl, a pyrazoline derivative of formula II, A, A1, and A2 being aryl, and n being 0 or 1, or 1, 1-bis(4-N, N-dibenzylaminophenyl) alkanes of formula IV, R1 being 1 to 11 C alkyl and R2 being H, methyl, nitro, or halogen, are mainly dissolved in a proper solvent, and this solution is coated and dried on an electrically conductive substrate to form a photosensitive layer.
