Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a printing head driving device electronically controlled in its operation, for achieving a stable high speed printing normally and permitting an alignment of a printing position without wasteful printing head operation and capable of performing a stepped movement.
CONSTITUTION: An instruction signal is applied from an input line 11 to a control circuit 16 and a printing head 6 is driven by driving a pulse motor 1 in response to the pulse applied from an oscillator 17. An oscillation frequency of the oscillator 17 is set at a value F1 lower than a self-actuation frequency of the motor 1 during the printing operation, and it is set at a value F2 somewhat lower than a maximim response frequency of the motor 1 during the return stroke. A rational speed control for the printing head 6 can be achieved without causing a disorder of the motor 1, the stop position of the head 6 is set constant normally to align a printing position, and an average printing speed can be set taking into consideration the return time of the printing head 6.
