Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain finely calcined, noble metal-baked and strengthened glass by temporarily calcining glass painted with a gold soln., a platinum soln. or the like to facilitate baking, followed by formation of a hydrophobic resin film and regular calcination.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of glass 1 is painted 2 with a gold soln. or the like and temporarily calcined to facilitate baking 3 (temporary fusion) of the painted surface. Resin film 4 is then formed on the surface by spraying or coating hydrophobic resin, pref. vinyl type resin, and regular calcination (glass strengthening) is performed to facilitate gasification scattering (thermal decomposition) of film 4 and strengthening of the bonding strength of baked part 3', thus forming a finely painted baked surface. By forming film 4 after temporary calcination the glass surface is isolated from moisture to prevent insufficient or uneven baking due to expansion of water.
