Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the rate of cooling by blowing liquid onto the melt having been spouted onto the top surface of a revolving roller. CONSTITUTION:Zinc powder or the like is put in a crucible 12 and is heated by a working coil 14 for high frequency induction heating, whereby the melt 13 of zinc or the like is obtained. Next, the foregoing melt is pressed and spouted from a nozzle 18 onto a roller 16 which is revolving at a high speed of, e.g., 2000 rpm and at the same time liquid nitrogen or the like is spouted through a pipe 15 to near the melt spouting point to carry out cooling also from the top of the ribbon. This method enables the even metal ribbon to be obtained at a high speed.
