Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title fibers industrially advantageously without degrading the properties of a polyester, by incorporating a specific polyester adduct of a polyalkylene oxide, into the polyester in a specific proportion.
CONSTITUTION: (a) 2W15wt% of a polyalkylene oxide having a number-average molecular weight of 300W4,000 is added to (b) a polyester having a relative viscosity of 1.20W1.32 to prepare a polyester (A) comprising at least one end to which the polyalkylene oxide is added. The polyester (A) is then incorporated and dispersed into a polyester (B) having a relative viscosity of 1.35W1.48 uniformly to give the content of (b) of 0.5W12wt%, preferably 2W10wt%. Thus, the fibers having peaks at the number-average molecular weight of 8,000W15,000 and 19,000W27,000, and a relative viscosity of 1.32W1.45 are obtained. Preferably, the polyester is PET, and component (a) is polyethylene oxide.
