Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a heat sensitive recording material having an excellent wear- proof characteristic without lowering its density by providing on a carrier through water soluble resin binder a heat sensitive layer comprising a heat sensitive component eliminating a color by heating and water-insoluble resin particles. CONSTITUTION:The following three components (a), (b) and (c) are mixed together by a mixer such as a ball mill, sand mill or the like to prepare a liquid material for a heat sensitive layer. (a): Water soluble binders 21 such as polyvinyl alcohol, starch oxide, casein or the like. (b): Heat sensitive components 22 eliminating a color by heating, such as a combination of crystal violet lactone and bisphenol A. (c): Particles 23 of mean particle size of 0.05 to 5 microns of a water-insoluble resin, e.g. phenol resin, epoxy resin or the like. The liquid material is then applied to a carrier 1 such as paper, synthetic paper, plastic film or the like by such an amount that the weight per unit area in dried condition is 4 to 10g/m<2> to form the heat sensitive layer 2 thereby to complete the manufacture of the heat sensitive recording material.
