Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily treat a high-temperature foul waste gas difficult to handle by introducing the high-temperature waste gas, which contains an adhesive powder and passes through a high-temperature zone for deodorization, directly into a heat exchanger connected to an incinerator so as to recover heat.
CONSTITUTION: The waste gas formed through the incineration in a fluidized-bed incinerator 11 entrains a portion of a fluid powder at a temperature above 700°C and is injected into a swirl fluidized-bed type heat exchanger 22 at a point above a dispersion perforated plate 23, in such a manner as to cause the fluid powder to swirl in tangential direction. The waste gas together with the powder is rapidly cooled by a heat transmitting pipe 43 arranged in the fluidized bed. The sliding action of the swirling fluid powder removes the adhesive power of the powder flying in from the incinerator 11, so that the surfaces of the pipe 43 and the plate 23 are protected from the deposition of the powder and kept clean.
