Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title foam usable as sealing compounds, e.g. joint compounds and packing materials, having a weak impact resilience, by heating and foaming a kneaded blend of polyvinyl chloride resin with a specific amount of a plasticizer and a small amount of a blowing agent.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100 parts by wt. of polyvinyl chloride resin is kneaded with (B) 100 parts by wt. or more, preferably 120W200 parts by wt. of a plasticizer, (C) a small amount, preferably 5W10 parts by wt., of an arganic blowing agent, and, if necessary, (D) a stabilizer, a thickener, and a filler, then heated and foamed to give the desired foam.
EFFECT: Improved sealing properties for a long time upon application to sealing compounds.
