Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:7beta-(alpha-p-protected hydroxyphenylmalonamide)-7alpha-methoxy-3- (1-methyl- 5-tetrazolyl)thiomethyl-1-oxadethia-3-cepham-4-carboxylic acid of formula I (Ar is p-protected hydroxyphenyl) or its derivatives. USE:Synthetic intermediates for antibiotics as penicillin, cephalosporin, etc. PREPARATION:The acylation of a compound of formula III or its reactive derivative with a p-protected hydroxyphenylmalonic acid or its reactive derivative of formula IV is effected by using them at a molar ratio of 1:1-1.5 in the presence of an organic base as pyridine in a solvent as methylene chloride at a lower temperature to produce the compound of formula I or its carboxy derivative.
