Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a thin-wall-thickness container of satisfactory wall thickness distribution and good appearance, without producing any scrap, by processing center and circumferential sections of a thermal plastic resin square tablet in such a manner and order as preheating, preparatory forming and thermal forming.
CONSTITUTION: A thermal plastic resin sheet, consisting of singular or plural layer, is formed into a square tablet; a temperature (Tc) of center section is preheated within a range of bicut softening point (Tv)-melting point (Tm); its circumferential section's temperature (Te) is preheated to a temperature above (Tm+10)°C and melted; a tablet 4 is introduced into a gap between forging dies (a and b) provided in its surrounding with a couple of circular conveying body 3 equipped with a top die 1 and a bottom die 2, having forging faces opposite to each other, and a flange forming gap 5; the tablet is pressed to form a required thickness so that a flange 6 and a forged sheet 7 a obtained. And then, these products are shifted onto a forming die 8 by the conveying body 3 to be processed by thermal forming, so that an objective container 9 is obtained.
