Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A halogeno β-picolylthiolcarbamate compound of formula I: (X is halogen; R1 and R2 are alkyl groups; n is 1 or 2).
EXAMPLE: S-(6-chloro-β-picolyl)-N,N-di-n-propylthiolcarbamate.
USE: Herbicides.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II: (Hal is halogen) is reacted with a compound of formula III: (Z is alkali metal; ammonium which may be substituted by lower alkyl group) in a solvent, e.g. ethyl alcohol at room temperatureW50°C for 1W 20hr to give the objective compounf of formula I. The optimum amount of the herbicides comprising the compound to be applied is 5W100g, preferably 10W50g, of the active constituent per are.
