Abstract

PURPOSE:To define excess developing solution and obtain good images by providing a developing solution defining roller for defining the developing solution amount on a photoreceptor in the position having a fixed spacing and other things. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic latent images made on a photoreceptor 3 are developed by the liquid developer from a liquid developer feed pipe 9 and the developer is collected into a storage tank 2 via liquid tray 8. A cylindrical defining roller 6 is provided to the bottom end of the tray 8 and this is made of Nylon, Derlin, Teflon, etc. A cam plate 4 which has been adjusted to the length of the image region is provided to the end face of the rotary drum of the photoreceptor 3 and the defining roller 6 is so arranged as to be able to maintain a fixed spacing from the photoreceptor 3 while the image region of the photoreceptor 3 passes by the action of the guide rollers 5 making contact respectively therewith. The action of this defining roller 6 prevents excess entry of the developer and always good images may be obtained by adjusting the spacing.
