Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the error adjustment of a recording system by eliminating a change in the tape kind for a change in the center value of a bias current during a bias-current adjustment by controlling the ON-OFF operation of a gate.
CONSTITUTION: Through control circuit 7, switching circuit 4 is switched to generate a gain adjustment signal and by a high-level tape kind signal obtained through ON-OFF operations of switches S1 to S3 corresponding to the tape kind, transistor Q1WQ3 conduct, thereby generating a gain signal for a shift in the center value of a bias current curve corresponding to the tape kind. Both the gain signals are applied to bias oscillator 6 through operational amplifier 5 to the setting adjustment of the optimum bias current. Once this adjustent starts, the control signal of circuit 7 is inverted to a high level and gates A1WA3 are closed through inverter N1 to inhibiting circuit 7 from accepting a change in tape kind by switches S1WS3, thereby preventing error adjustment due to malfunction.
