Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the outflow of washed sand by precipitating washed sand going over a sluice with washing water in a raking drum and by supplying it from the raking charge chute into rotary drum again by providing raking drums on the charging side of a sand-washing rotary drum inteqrally.
CONSTITUTION: The raking drum 3 for collecting washed sand, having a larger diameter than that of the rotary drum 1, is provided integrally on the polluted sand charging side of the rotary drum 1, and sand of a comparatively small grain size, which is floatable in washing water by stirring during washing period and also tends to go over a sluice toward washing water, is precipitated in the raking drum 3 and then the precipitated sand is ladled up to the upper side of the drum by the raking blade 5 provided to the raking drum 3, dropped into the charging chute 8 to the rotary drum 1 again for washing the sand, and then discharged from the discharging chute 9 to the outside. Thus, the outflow of washed sand with washing water can be prevented exactly.
