Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title coating of excellent heat resistance, soluble to organic solvents, by the copolymerization between a naphthalene dicarboxylic acid along with a specific another dicarboxylic acid and a glycol.
CONSTITUTION: The objective coating can be obtained by the copolymerization between (A) a mixed dicarboxylic acid consisting of (a) 10W40mol% of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid (or its ester-forming derivative) and (b) 90W60mol% of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid (or its ester-forming derivative) in which a 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid (or its ester-forming derivative) accounts for ≥30% and (B) a glycol such as ethylene glycol (or its ester-forming derivative). The coating obtained is soluble to organic solvents and bas a softening point of 40W180°C.
