Abstract
PURPOSE: To lower the starting voltage and reduce the variation of light-flux maintenence rate by mixing each fired substance of metals having high melting point, emitter action assisting materials, and emitter components, and by firing the mixture at above a prescribed temperature.
CONSTITUTION: At least one kind of metals having high melting point, such as W, Ta, and Mo, at least one kind of alkaline earth metal salts such as BaCO3, CaCO3 as emitter components, and at least one kind of Y2O3, ZrO2, Al2O3 for supporting emitter action are directly mixed and molding formed. After that, the mixture is fired in a reductive emvironment at the temperature at which the metal having high melting point and alkaline earth metal salt react, 1400W1600°C. Accordingly, firing condition such as firing temperature can be establishel and controlled favourably, and operation starting voltage can be lowered, and the variation of light-flux maintenence rate can be reduced, when the electrode is used for discharge lamp.
