Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the characteristic of a discharge lamp by constituting an electrode from the substance obtained by direct sintering of substratum constituting powder and emitter constituting powder and controlling conditions such as firing temperature.
CONSTITUTION: Electrode material is obtained by sintering, at the same time, the main component of a kind or more of W, Mo, and Ta, and the substratum component of one kind or more of Yttrium oxide, zirconium oxide, and aluminium oxide in 3W30% by weight, and the emitter component containg 5W40% of one kind or more of alkaline earth metal salt such as barium carbonate and calcium carbonate. Through this process, discharge starting voltage can be lowered, and the generation of noise can be reduced, and light-flux maintenance rate can be improved.
