Abstract
PURPOSE: To give the title composition with improved moldability, comprising a specific aromatic polyester polycarbonate and a low molecular weitht polymer of styreue (or of its derivative).
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprising (A) 100 parts by wt. of an aromatic polyester polycarbonate composed of the structural units of formula I (X is a divalent group; the aromatic unclei may carry substituents) and those of formula II and having a molar ratio dihydroxydiaryl compound residue: terephthalic acid residue: carbonate linkage of 1:0.33W0.75W0.25, an intrinsic viscosity of 0.4W1.5, a glass transition point of 160W190°C, and a terminal carboxyl group equivalent of 10μ equivalent/g resin, and (B) 0.5W20 parts by wt. of a low molecular weight polymer of styrene (or its derivative) of formula III (R is H or lower alkyl; R' is H, halogen, or lower alkyl; m is 1W2; n is a polymarization degree), having a number average molecular weight ≤5,000.
