Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a decorated pattern like lacquered works by the procedure in which a pattern masking is applied on an ultraviolet-ray setting paint layer coated on a base material and then after being irradiated by an ultraviolet rays, the unhardened portion of the layer is removed by dissolution.
CONSTITUTION: An ultraviolet ray-setting paint is coated on the surface of a base material, e.g., wood, decorated plywood, metal plate, plastic plate, etc., and then a pattern masking consisting of a positive film is applied on the coat. Then, the irradiation of ultra violet rays is made, and unhardened portion of the coat due to the masking against the ultraviolet rays is removed by dissolution with a solvent to form a pattern-forming concavity. Then, a synthetic resin mixed with a colorant, a metal powder, etc., is filled in the concavity to produce a gold-lacquered work- like pattern.
