Abstract
PURPOSE: A soundproof coating material having improved soundproof properties, adhesion, resistance to impact and chipping, comprising a specific vehicle and a filler.
CONSTITUTION: A coating material comprising (A) 100 parts by wt. of a vehicle consisting of (a) 30W90wt% of styvene-butadiene rubber, (b) 70W10wt% of a rosin, e.g. wood rosin or tall oil resin, and/or a petroleum resin, e.g. synthetic polyterpene or aliphatic cyclic hydrocarbon resin, and (B) 10W500 parts by wt. of a filler, e.g. fibrous single crystals of insoluble anhydrous gypsum or microballoons, having a diameter (d) of 0.1W30μ, a length (l) of 10W5,000μ, and an aspect ratio (l/d) of 20W200.
