Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent backfire, by providing a secondary air passage in the wall of a burner head to cool the burner head by secondary air.

CONSTITUTION: The burner head 23 comprises a body 24, a pressure equalizing plate 25, a porous flame hole plate 26 and a hole-down plate 27 which are overlapped with one another. The burner head 23 is inserted into an evaporation cylinder 15. A secondary air ejection port 35 is opened through the boss part 32 of the body 24 of the head 23. Secondary air passages 36 are provided in arms 33 of the burner head 23 to conduct the secondary air from a secondary air chamber 18. Another secondary air passage 37 is opened through a part of an evaporation cylinder 15 which faces the arms 33. The secondary air is conducted from the secondary air chamber 18 through the secondary air passages 37, 36 and ejected from the ejection port 35. An air reservoir 39 is defined between the outside surface of the body 24 of the head 23 and the inside surface of the evaporation cylinder 15. The plural secondary air passages between the secondary air chamber 18 and the secondary air ejection port 35 are connected to one another halfway to cool the burner head 23.
