Abstract
PURPOSE: The captioned alloy which is obtainable by controlling Ni+Co and Mn within the specified range, containing a small amount of N and a slight amount of C and the rest Fe and which is small in the coefficient of thermal expansion at low temperature, has stable structure at service temperature, is inexpensive and has no residual bubbles.
CONSTITUTION: Ni+Co (where Co; 0.5 to 2.0%) and Mn are controlled within the region of abcd shown by oblique lines in the correlation diagram illustrated and are further made to the high Ni-Fe alloy having the compostion composed of 0.004%< N≤0.03%, C; ≤0.005% and the rest Fe. Here, a; 34.8, 1.2, b; 35.8, 0.3, c; 37.5, 0.3, d;36.2, 1.2. Ferro-nickel is used for raw material and the sound cost ingot having no bubbles is produced by a vacuum mleting method or atmospheric melting method. Hence, the bubble-free cast ingot may be obtained inexpensively and efficiently without requiring large-scale and costly equipment such as vacuum melting equipment.
