Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the efficiency of filtration by minimizing the clogging of a screen by supplying inflow water in the state of turning stream to the outer circumference of a drum screen after causing the turning stream in an introducing chamber, and providing a spiral scraper.
CONSTITUTION: A drum screen 2 is rotated within a casing 1. Water is introduced through a water supply tube 5 into an introduction chamber A where turning steram is caused. Then the inflow water in the state of the turning stream is supplied to the outer circumference of the drum screen 2. Dust is collected on the screen 2. Filtered water flows out from the inside of the screen 2 through a discharge pipe 11. As the screen 2 is rotated, dust collected on the screen 2 is scraped by a spiral scraper 12. The dust descends and is transferred to a dust reservoir C2 where the dust is stored. The dust is discharged through a discahrge pipe 9 by opening periodically a valve 10.
