Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A sand filter type water in-take device consists of a frame 10 lead ing to an industrial water feed pipe 2 at the bottom, a sand filter layer 5 consiting of sand and broken stone provided inside the frame 10, a high-pressure water storage chamber 13, and plural high-pressure water jet nozzles 6. Water 14 flows into the surface of the filter layer 5 and passes through a pipe 2, where suspended substances 3, if any, in the water 14 are filtered by the sand filter 5a. Also, even when blinding by suspended substances occurs in the filter 5a, the suspended substances can be removed by the jet stream of high-pressure water from the nozzles 6.
