Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a performance of a heat-exchanger by providing a liquid reservoir at a lower portion of a casing for a centrifugal fan and controlling the liquid at a level not higher than the outer periphery of the rotor for the centrifugal fan.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid reservoir is provided within a lower portion of a casing 4 for a centrifugal fan 2, and a water conduit 6 is attached to the lower portion of the casing 4 through a control valve 5, which is operated by a signal from a level sensor 8 for a level controller 7 attached in the casing 4. A level in the casing 4 is controlled by such a manner as described above so as to be kept lower than the height of the lowest outer periphery of the fan 2, therefore, the fan 2 may be rotated with a low torque without being resisted by the liquid and an air stream shown by arrow signs is produced. Waves are caused on the surface of the liquid by a vibration of the rotation of the fan, thereby, fine dripps are produced and are carried together with the air stream to a heat-exchanger, then, they make a thin liquid film on the surface thereof. Latent heat for evaporation of the film may also cool a liquid in the heat-excharger.
