Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title spinning solution of proper viscosity industrially advantageously, by adding an organic polymer to an aluminum oxychloride solution formed through addition of metallic aluminum to a solution of aluminum hydroxide as an alumina source in conc. hydrochloric acid.
CONSTITUTION: Aluminum hydroxide as an alumina source is dissolved in conc. hydrochloric acid, and metallic aluminum is dissolved in the solution thus obtained with the controlled reaction rate to form an aluminum oxychloride solution. An organic polymer, preferably polyvinyl alcohol having a molucular weight of 103W 107 in an amount of 1W10wt% is added to the solution to give the desired spinning solution.
