Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the bond of a liner plate to the disc's body by making the brake disc in such a way as casting aluminum or aluminum alloy around the pair of liner plates formed through casting of ferric material. CONSTITUTION:A pair of projections 4 are formed previously by casting of ferric material at the facing surfaces of liner plates 3, in the form of a bridge for example, which are contained in a mold 6. Molten aluminum or aluminum alloy is poured in through the gate 6c to cast around the liner plates 3 and the bridge 4 between them. The disc's body is thus formed. By such a procedure, the contruction force generated at the time of cooling of the molten aluminum or aluminum alloy embraces the bridge 4a of the liner plate 3, so that good bond to the disc's body 1 is obtained.
