Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A phosphinic acid derivative of formula I [R1 is alkyl group or formula II (R3 is H, alkyl group, etc.); R2 is H, alkyl, phenyl group, etc.; n is an integer 1W5], and its salt.
EXAMPLE: 3-(Hydroxyamino)propyl phenylphosphinate.
USE: Antilipemic agents for preventing and treating hyperlipemia and arteriosclerosis.
PROCESS: A compound of formula III (X is halogen; R4 is alkyl group) is reacted with a compound of formula IV (R5 is benzyl, alkoxycarbonyl group, etc.; R6 is benzenesulfonyl, p-toluene-sulfonyl group, etc.) in the presence of a base, e.g. NaOH or pyridine, in an organic solvent, e.g. methanol or DMF, to give the compound of formula V, which is then hydrolyzed and N-acylated to form the compound of formula I.
