Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A propionic acid amide derivative of formula I (R1, R2 are straight or branched lower alkyl; R1 and R2 may together with the adjacent N atom form a substituted piperazino).
EXAMPLE: N,N-Dimethyl-2-(10,11-dihydro-11-oxodibenzo[b,f]thiepin-2-yl)propionamide.
USE: Antiphlogistics.
PROCESS: The objective compound I is prepared by reacting a compound of formula II or its reactive derivative (pref. acid halide, mixed acid anhydride, etc.) with an amine of formula III, pref. in a solvent such as benzene, tetrahydrofuran, etc. In case of the direct reaction of the compound II with the compound III, it is preferable to carry out the reaction in the presence of a condensation agent such as dicyclohexyl carbodiimide, etc.
