Abstract

PURPOSE:To apply short-time and even sulfide coloring which does not produce any interference color to the surfaces of copper products by dipping the copper surfaces in the coloring solution comprising adding potassium sulfide and NH4Cl in an aqueous ammonium sulfide solution. CONSTITUTION:Copper surfaces of the blank made of copper or having undergone copper plating is dipped in the coloring solution being the mixed aqueous solution comprising adding 20wt% or under, based on the weight of ammonium sulfide, of potassium sulfide and NH4Cl of a small amount of the extent of not allowing sulfur to deposit to an aqueous solution of 5wt% or under of ammonium sulfide. In this way, the short-time and even sulfide coloring which does not produce any interference color may be applied to the copper surfaces. In addition, the life of the coloring solution may be maintained long.
