Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable test in low cost and with less space, by testing the tested data processor through the storage of the interface signal between the data processor and peripheral unit to the virtual peripheral unit in a given timing.
CONSTITUTION: The data processor already tested and operated correctly and the peripheral unit are connected, test program is executed, and data is collected by storing the signal transmission and reception of the both to the virtual peripheral unit in a given timing. The virtual peripheral unit 4 thus stored is connected to the data unit 7 to test the unit 7. That is, the content stored in the auxiliary memory unit 10 of the unit 4 is sequentially stored in the memory unit 6 and the content of the unit 6 is outputted via the register 9 on the interface in synchronizing with a given timing. The signal from the units 6, 7 is compared at the interface signal comparator 8 to test the operation of the unit 7, and if the result of the comparator 8 is in disagreement, the error signal 13 is outputted to report the failure of the unit 7.
