Abstract

PURPOSE: To print in continuous dot interval without lowering the print speed, by performing reciprocal sweep of a plurality for the same dot line without changing the reciprocal sweep period of print head and making dot print on different positions on the same dot line.

CONSTITUTION: The sweep number storage section 2 storing the number of sweeps to one line dot is controlled with the output of the control circuit 1 of the unit in which the print head is moved reciprocally transversally to the feeding direction of the print paper and the character code is printed as the collection of the dots, and the print output corresponding to the designation mode of the storage section 2 is picked up from the character memory 3. The print data picked up is fed to the gate circuit 6 via the register 5 corresponding to the print head 8, and the signal of the position detector 9 picking up the sweep reciprocal movement position signal of the print head 8 is fed to the circuit 6 as the print timing signal, the output signal of the circuit 6 controls the print head drive circuit 7 to perform a plurality of reciprocal sweeps and the circuit 1 controls the paper feed motor 13.
