Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the branching joints for piping large voluminously and inexpensively by pressing blank such as pipe of the specified length in a die to form the top end to the curved face corresponding to the curvature of the main pipe and forming torus form flange, protrusion, etc. by the punch of the next process.
CONSTITUTION: Blank 1 such as pipe or round bar of the specified length is disposed in a die 2 in which a counter 3 is provided in the bottom and is then pushed by a punch 4 having the curved face corresponding to the curvature of the main pipe P from the upper part to form a curved face 1' at the top end portion and a flowed out bulging part 1" in the bottom end part. Working is simple and processing may be done through cold or hot forging and therefore the joints may be produced large voluminously and inexpensively.
