Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain transfer paper capable of a high quality image free from glittering luster resulting from pressure fixing, by impregnating a base paper prepared by mixing chemical pulp and ground pulp with a coating material having high electric resistance and affinity with toner.
CONSTITUTION: A base paper constituting transfer paper is prepared by mixing chemical pulp and ground pulp, and this appearance exhibits a yellow or pale brown color. A preferable amount of ground pulp contained in the base paper is 25W80wt%. A coating material to be coated or impregnated on or into the base paper is a resin having similarity to a toner binder, compatibility with this, high intrinsic resistivity, and good affinity with the toner, for example, an organic solvent solution of polyvinylacetate or its aqueous emulsion is suitable. The base paper with such composition has improved feed and running performance of paper, prevents a glittering luster, and thus, is able to obtain a good image quality.
