Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish quick and accurate measurement of hydrofluoric acid, strong acid, iron ion, total F- by measuring the concentration of F-, the strong acid and anion following the neutralization by a specified salt solution of the dialysis liquid obtained when the pickling solution is dialysed using an anion exchange membrane while the specific gravity of the pickling solution is measured separately.
CONSTITUTION: A mixed acid containing metal ion (the mixture of strong acids including hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid) is placed into the left section of a recovery tank 1 while an acid recovered and H+ dialysed into the right section thereof through an anion exchange membrance 2. The acid recovered and a diluted liquid from a tank 4 are placed into a mixing tank 3. Using a salt solution obtained from the neutralization of weak acid and strong base or strong acid and weak base, the diluted liquid is treated so that the mixture in the tank 3 is below 10-5mol/l in the H+ concentration. Then, the mixture is sent to a detection tank 5 and the concentration of F- and anion of the strong acid is separately measured with corresponding selective electrodes 6 and 7, outputted to a computer 13 from a voltmeter. On the other hand, the specific gravity of the mixed acid in the tank 10 is measured with a specific gravity meter 11, and outputted to the computer 13 by way of an interface 12. The result of computation will be indicated on a display 14. Thus, the concentration of control of the mixed acid can be done.
