Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture light vehicle wheels by a method wherein cloth and roving composed of organic fiber, inorganic fiber or those complexes which have impregnated thermosetting resin are laminated alternately and then molded.
CONSTITUTION: Cloth and roving composed of organic fiber, inorganic fiber or those complexes such as carbon fiber, quebra fiber, glass fiber, etc. which have impregnated thermosetting resin such as epoxy resin, etc. are laminated alternately and then heated and molded under pressure. To give an example, three layers of carbon fiber coated cloth are wound around a metal mold at 80°C to form a carbon cloth coated cord 0.6mm thick 1. Around it a carbon roving coated string is wound in tention to form a carbon roving coated string layer 2. On the layer 2 are formed a carbon cloth coated cord 3, a quebra roving coated string layer 4, a quebra cloth coated cord 5.
