PURPOSE:To feed an original figure efficiently and exactly, by detecting that the rear end of a transfer paper for copying an original figure just preceding an original figure at the stand-by has passed the position and starting to feed the original figure. CONSTITUTION:A wheel 88 is rotatably attached to the rear end of arm 94 with one end swingably installed on the proper immobile member of a copying machine. Wheel 88 placed on transfer paper 88 piled up is rotated by friction with paper 56 in feeding it in the arrow direction with paper feed roller 60. This rotation also rotates rotary disc 90 fixed to the shaft of wheel 88, and intermittently cuts off the light path between light emitting diode 96 and photodetector 98.
