Abstract

PURPOSE: To restrain the large current flowing immediately after energization by forming a suction air heater employing a PTC heater from an assembly of a plurality of systems of different energization paths, and slightly staggering the energization starting timings of the respective systems.
CONSTITUTION: A horizontal suction-air supply passage 1 is connected with the downstream side of a carburetor C. A suction air heater A is arranged directly below the carburetor C and at the bottom of the suction air passage 1. The heater A has one heating plate 2 of excellent thermal conductivity and two ceramic heating elements 4a and 4b having positive resistance temperature characteristics. The heating elements 4a and 4b are electrically connected with a water temperature switch S1 detecting the water temperature of a water jacket 12 and have energization timings different from each other according to the temperature.
