Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a vivid hard name plate which is hardly decolored, by applying a resist onto an anodically oxidized film formed on an Al or its alloy plate by a rectangular wave voltage, and dyeing and sealing a required part.
CONSTITUTION: An Al or Al alloy plate is degreased and etched. The plate is then dipped in a sulfuric acid solution or the mixed solution of sulfuric acid and oxalic acid. In the solution, a rectangular wave voltage having 22W26V of a higher value, 15W18V of a lower value, 55W65sec of a higher value-maintaining period and 60W90sec of a repetition cycle is charged onto the plate. A baffle layer 2 and an anodically oxidized film 3 are formed on the Al or Al alloy plate 1 at an electrolyte temperature of 20W28°C. Thereafter, a resist is applied onto the surface of the film 3 except parts expected to form characters or patterns. The whole surface of the plate 1 is then coated with an oily or water dyestuff 5, so as to pack fine holes 4, at the parts of the film 3 uncoated with the resist, with the dyestuff 5 and to seal the film 3. Thereafter, the plate is punched to a required shape. Thus, a name plate is produced.
