Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce titled molding material which is suitable for use in the production of a mahjong tile, etc. and whose apparent density is high, by a method wherein caprolactam and water or methyl alcohol together with a hardener, a releasing agent and a colorant are added to the dried material of an amino resin molding material.
CONSTITUTION: A base material such as pulp is impregnated with an amino resin precondensate (e.g. a urea resin, a melamine resin, etc.). The resin-impregnated base material is dried with heating at a temp. of 80W95°C to remove water, whereby the reaction of the resin is allowed to proceed to some degree. To the resulting dried material of the amino resin molding material are added a drying agent (e.g. ammonium chloride, etc.), a releasing agent (e.g. zinc stearate, etc.) and a colorant together with 1W5wt% (based on the weight of the dried material) of caprolactam. While these components are mixed together by means of a ball mill, 0.1W1wt% (based on the weight of the dried material) of water or methyl alcohol is added to the mixt. over 3W5hr. Further, the mixing is continued to obtain the desired amino resin molding material having high apparent density.
