Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a coil by reducing the heating loss of superconductors wherein the number of raw wires are different, uniformly arranging a separating plate which supports a coil to a container, and making the stress caused by an electromagnetic force uniform throughout the entire coil. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of superconductive raw wires 2 are embeded in a stabilizing conductor 3 of a superconductor 1. The number of the raw wires of the superconductor 1a at the outer periphery is smaller than the number of raw wires of the superconductor 1b at the inner periphery. At least one of the raw wires 2 is connected to the conductor 1b from the conductor 1a at a welded portion 11, and is embeded in the conductor 3 along the entire length, thereby the heating loss is minimized. The concave and convex portions at the outer periphery forming a coil are approximately matched with the locations of transition 6 on the inner periphery and a coil outlet 5. A separating plate 13 is compressed into the portion other than said portions, and is securely fixed, thereby the stress caused by an electromagnetic force is made uniform throughout the entire coil. By this method, the reliability can be enhanced.
