Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition, excellent in electrical insulating properties and tracking resistance, by the addition of an aqueous solution of hexamethylene-tetramine, obtained by adding ammonia to condensed water produced when an amino resin is solidified, to a liquid precondensate of an amino resin.
CONSTITUTION: Condensed water, produced when an amino resin is solidified in a thin-film distiller (COD of about 1,000W40,000ppm; formaldehyde content of about 5,000W20,000ppm), is reacted with ammonia, to produce an aqueous solution of hexamethylenetetramine. Then said aqueous solution of hexamethylenetetramine is added to the liquid precondensate of an amino resin (urea resin, melamine resin, etc.), to obtain an amino resin composition.
