Abstract
PURPOSE: To recover efficiently coal, by a method wherein coarse particulate coal is separated from a slurry of raw coal, the remaining part of the slurry is divided into a concentrated slurry and a dilute slurry, the dilute slurry is concentrated and mixed with the concentrated slurry, a mineral oil is added to the mixt. to granulate pulverized coal, and the granulated coal is dehydrated.
CONSTITUTION: Coal 2 in a ship 1 is slurried in water from a water tank 3. The slurry is transferred to a granulated coal-separator 6 where coarse particulate coal having a particle diameter of 1W30mm is separated. The coarse particulate coal is dehydrated, placed in a coal depot 7 and recovered as dried coarse particulate coal 8. A slurry of pulverized coal having a particle diameter of not more than 1mm is transferred to a storage tank 11 where a concentrated slurry settles out which is then transferred to a mixing tank 15. Dilute slurry is overflowed and transferred to a concentration tank 13 where the dilute slurry is concentrated and then supplied to the mixing tank 15 where a mineral oil 17 is added to the slurry. The pulverized coal is agglomerated and granulated. Then the granulated coal is dehydrated in a dehydrator 19 and recovered as dehydrated granulated coal 20. Water from the dehydrator 19 is separated in a receiver tank 21. Pulverized coal-contg. water is returned to the concentration tank 13. The mineral oil is returned to the mixing tank 15. Ash 24 is recovered as a solid.
