Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled coal-oil mixture whose ash content is low, by adding a seed to a slurry of pulverized coal contg. ash, granulating the pulverized coal, to remove ash, adding heated oil to the granulates to evaporate water, and disintegrating granulates to recover the seed.
CONSTITUTION: Ash-contg. coal is pulverized and sluried in water. A seed composed of a hydrophilic particulate solid, acting as a granulating nucleus, such as a particulate rigid polyvinyl chloride resin having a particle size of 1W several mm and oil such as kerosine are mixed with the slurry of the pulveriaed coal contg. ash to granulate the pulverized coal. The resulting granulates are separated from the slurry, and washed with water remove ash. Then heated oil such as fuel oil is mixed with the washed granulates to evaporate water. The granulates contg. the heated oil are disintegrated to divide them into the seed and a coal-oil mixture composed of deashed coal and oil. In this way, the desired coal-oil mixture is obtd., and the seed is recovered and recycled to the granulating stage to reuse it.
