Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermosensitive recording material prevented from pressure coloring, by a method wherein a polymer-coated decolorizer is incorporated with a thermosensitive coloring layer which contains a developer and a color former made from a leuco dyestuff. CONSTITUTION:A polymer-coated decolorizer having grain diameters of approximately 0.5-10mu is obtained by coating grains of a decolorizer (cetyl alcohol, polyether derivatives, etc.) with a high-molecular material such as methyl cellulose or starch. Then, a colorless, or light-colored leuco dyestuff (a color former, e.g., crystal violet lactone), an acid material (a developer) to color said color former by heating and decorizer are dispersed in a resin binder solution and the obtained dispersion is coated and dried on a support to form a thermosensitive coloring layer for a thermosensitive recording material. Approximately 0.1-5pts.wt. of said decolorizer is used for 1pt.wt. of the leuco dyestuff.
